A small patch panel was made to repair the thin steel at the bottom of the cowl.

The piece was fully MIG welded in, then the welds ground flush, and 3M seam sealer was applied over a primer.

A coat of black enamel would protect the steel from future corrosion.

The new panel was punched with holes, then plug welded in position. The welds were ground and the repair is undetectable.
