We obtained this car from the original owner, and it was interesting to learn the story about how this car came to be.
Back in 1971, the original owner was shopping for a high-performance Oldsmobile, but he could not afford to buy a new 442. Instead, he ended up buying a Cutlass “S “model, and added performance options to it until he reached the limit of his budget.
These upgrades included Super Stock II wheels, a fiberglass Outside Air Induction (OAI) hood, a four-speed transmission, bucket seats, disc brakes, and white hood stripes, but he could not afford the 455 cube Oldsmobile V8 found in the 442. Instead, this car came with a 350 cubic inch V8 and a four barrel carburetor.
He had driven it as his daily driver for many years, and it arrived in our shop with approximately 120,000 miles on the odometer and it was disassembled, as the original owner began a restoration but was not prepared to perform all the work himself.
