1946 Ford Tudor Street Rod Restoration at V8 Speed & Resto Shop

This 1946 Ford Coupe (Tudor) came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop for a repaint, as well as some rust repair and other fixes. Plans call for an exterior paint stripping, sheet metal repair, bodywork, priming, and shooting a new coat of shiny metallic charcoal paint.

First glance, this old street rod doesn’t look so bad. The trim was all there, but the paint was cracked and checking.

It is powered by a healthy 350 cubic inch small block Chevy V8, and it rides on a Mustang II style suspension. Overall, the car drove very well, it just didn’t look that great.

The interior was there, and we really liked the design of the dashboard with the art deco trim. The gray seats were worn out, and the dash and door panels could use some cosmetic upgrades.

We’ll see what this ride needs as the V8 Crew digs in. Stay tuned!
