Just a few pic of the ongoing project…’76 GMC, 2004 aluminum 5.3 with 4L60e. airbag suspension. Still in progress, Cab at the media blasters….

Wow Wayne, that’s a great looking project! What suspension system are you running? We might be getting one of these in the shop this year. Love the blue engine!

Thanks, I have been trying to keep the truck in budget but freight charges are killing me. I’d say 1/4 of the amount spent went to shipping and 1/8 to cross border duties :angry:
The paint is just Duplicolor Metalcast, although its very close to the Honda Dyno Blue Pearl I have chosen for the truck. The suspension is from AirRide Technologies. I’m very pleased with the fit.
I’ve been fabricating the little details instead of buying them to save money, so far, so good. I do wish I was better at bodywork though.

That Honda Dyno Blue is also a cool color. It’s going to be a good looking truck!

The shipping and duties really blow. We know how expensive it can be just to ship small items up there.. can’t imagine the bill for all the parts to build a truck!

Bodywork just takes time and patience… which you have built up waiting for your parts to arrive in the mail, no doubt!

That’s going to be a sharp C15 when its done. What are the plans for the wheels and interior?

Undecided on the wheels, likely to be 18’s in a classic design, polished or chrome. I think these classics deserve and look right with chrome. Interior will get buckets of some kind, I like the seats in the Honda Odyssey or something similar Anything will have to be modified to fit anyway. I will be making a center console for a shifter and to hide the suspension and audio electronics from sheet metal, not a fan of leather or vinyl, to cold or hot. I have a general idea but I am open to suggestions.

Bodywork is slowly getting done. Started fitting the doors today, let it be said that in 1976 GM did not have fit and finish high on the priority list

Really haven’t put a lot of thought into the interior, Likely some black/gray/blue theme to match the exterior/chassis/engine. Any particular reason you ask? Have something in mind?

No particular reason, I just kind of like the smooth leather with suede insert look myself but wonder how it would be in the long run trying to keep it clean and prevent matting down. It sure would not be as slippery or as hot as leather especially in the darker colors. I also kind of like the 2016 Dodge Challenger RT seats.
