    My name is Daryl and I saw some of your youtube videos and wanted to learn more. I saw your 60 or so videos on the 1969 Chevelle 496 project and was impressed. I have a 1968 Chevelle that I have been tinkering with for the last 40 years. This was my first car I ever owned and I plan on keeping it as long as I live. I have learned how to work on cars by taking this Chevelle apart. I am not expert, but I do love working on these older muscle cars, and I am always wanting to learn more. Current project to start soon is to install a Tremec T56 Magnum 6 speed.

    It’s always fascinating to me to meet people who still have their first car, especially a ’60s Muscle Car like your Chevelle! I bet there were many opportunities to sell it, but we’re all glad you hung on to it. We’d love to see some pics if you have a few!

    Oh, and thanks for your positive feedback with V8TV videos, we’re glad you enjoy them. The SS496 was a great car, as is the black ’69 we recently completed.

    The Tremec is a great swap. Keep us posted if you have questions, we’ve done many 5 and 6-speed conversions and would be glad to help!

    Thank you. I look forward to learning anything I can from you. Too bad I did not know about you guys back in 2005 when I lived in the Rock Island, IL area. Since than I moved to Georgia.

    Silver Sport Transmission is providing the Tremec kit for my Chevelle. They said I will be the first 68 kit they provide. Hopefully they will be done with manufacturing process by Friday.

    Before I signed up I sent you an e-mail regarding EFI systems for cars like mine, which will be my next project. Your youtube video on the Holley Terminator was the first of your videos I saw. Hopefully you will get a chance to review that e-mail soon. Thanks for all the info you provide.

    That’s ok. Since my next project after the transmission is going to be installing an EFI system, I just asked what is the difference between the EFI systems out there right now besides price. And which one you like if any. I have had my eye on Fitech’s EFI’s since they are the least expensive, yet they do not leave out anything. Your thoughs on this subject.

    Daryl, the Fitech system is interesting. I know the guys over there,in fact we did an interview with them at SEMA from their past company, Powerjection. That is still on YouTube today.

    We don’t have personal experience with the Fitech system, but our mechanic Trevor had a Powerjection system on his personal car for years and really liked it. I’m not suggesting that they are the same, but the Fitech system seems to be the next evolution of that system.

    Another one to consider is the new Holley Sniper system, which offers similar features at the same price point. This one is not available until April, so we don’t have experience with it yet.
