Yes, that is a great looking combo. Which brings me to a question not related to wheels, so I apologize if I am moving off topic. Why wouldn’t Goodyear or Firestone not make a raised white letter radial tire with the looks of the Polyglas or Wide Oval. You would think there would be a good market for that?
That could be possible but BF Goodrich made them. Just would be nice to see Goodyear and Firestone follow suit considering thats what came on most muscle cars of this era.
The BFG’s had the radial belly and did not really look like bias ply’s. Id buy a set in a sec if they could make em exactly like bias plys with a radial design.
We’ve been running a set of V45s from Vintage Wheel Works since the late ’90s I believe… and we’re getting ready to do a little update on ’em. Stay tuned!
All this talk about tuning up our wheels has inspired us to have our wheels restored and shod with some new tires.
We discovered that Dent Wizard can bring old aluminum wheels back to life, and one of their 3 wheel renovation centers is close to us, so we had them restore our Vintage Wheel Works V45. They came out like new, and they are now powdercoated to stay looking that way!
We also discovered that Diamond Back Classics makes a sweet custom tire that features both a white stripe and a redline. It’s a factory tire for a ’65 – ’66 Thunderbird, and we think they match the style of our ’62 perfectly. What do you think?
