This cool yellow 1968 Oldsmobile 442 looks great, but the owner wanted better handling, braking, and comfort, while adding more reliable power and a smoother shifting transmission to the car without sacrificing the classic look. The solution is the installation of at Roadster Shop chassis and an LS3 V8, hooked to a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission. Follow along as we make the upgrades! This video shows the dash replacement, but we’ll have a full feature on the car when it’s done!
Some restored cars look completed, but still require extensive refinement and tuning to be road-ready. In this case, our customer had this sweet 1969 Camaro restored, but there are always areas to improve the performance and reliability of car like this. The V8 Speed & Resto Shop team will be installing a Holley Sniper EFI system on the 396, and will also be adding a Detroit Speed suspension upgrade along with fixing a few other items. It’s a beautiful Camaro, and we’re happy for the opportunity to work on it for our customer. PHASE II UDATE: The ’69 is back at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for another visit, this time it’s getting a Vintage Air A/C system installed, along with a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual overdrive transmission!
