This 1976 Chevrolet Corvette came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop seeking some modern upgrades for improved performance. It already had a Chevrolet Performance ZZ2 crate engine making 345 HP, but the V8 team added Holley fuel injection for increased reliability and performance. Then they swapped out the 4-speed manual transmission for a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed from Modern Driveline and a hydraulic clutch. These provide an overdrive gear for highway cruising, and a smooth, easy operation. Brakes are improved significantly with a Hydratech hydraulic brake booster. Vintage Air A/C was added to keep the occupants comfortable. The V8 Interior Shop went to work recovering the seats and installing new door panels to freshen the inside, and the black paint was treated to a polish job. It's a slick ride that far outperforms the original, and is great fun to drive!
