1969 Dodge Charger Daytona 440 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals 2022 MCACN Muscle Car Of The Week

The 2022 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals featured an unbelievable display called “Wings Over America”, and it consisted of dozens of “Wing Cars”, also known as 1969 Dodge Charger Daytonas and 1970 Plymouth Superbirds. These factory-built customs shared some of the same distinctive modifications made to their NASCAR racing counterparts. In fact, Dodge and Plymouth were required to build street-legal versions of their race cars in order for the race cars to be legal in NASCAR stock car racing. They called it “homologation”, we cal them awesome.

This amazing 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona is wearing a fantastic color combination of orange with a white interior and Daytona wing stripe. The owner claims the car is wearing most of its original sheet metal. The orange steel wheels with “dog dish” hubcaps and redline bias-ply tires look perfect on the car, and the original white interior still looks great today.

Under the extended hood you’ll find a 440-4 barrel V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. A Dana rear axle spins the tires.

Perhaps one of the greatest attributes of the car is how the owner drives the car as much as he can, with his wife and young kids on board. They all enjoy the ride… and who wouldn’t love a bright orange and white Dodge Daytona? This video was shot at the 2022 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show in Chicago.
