Over 200 Pontiac Firebirds in the 2022 Firebird Fest Event May 19-22 V8TV Video
The 2022 Firebird Fest is coming soon, with over 200 Pontiac Firebirds and Pontiac Trans Ams participating in the 3 day long cruising and show event.
Activities Include:
- Drive your Firebird around an actual NASCAR/Indy track!
- Firebird only car shows and cruises
- Grafton Ferry Mississippi River Jump!
- Cruise with the Legendary Bandit and Sheriff Buford!
- National Transportation Museum Tour
- Smokey and the Bandit “Drive In” Movie Night!

- Ticket to PRIVATE ZZ TOP Tribute concert at host hotel!

- Firebird Show in Waterloo, Illinois
Saturday, May 21, the Firebird Fest parades into the quaint town square in Waterloo, Illinois for a show from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. In this video, we see 30 or so Pontiac Firebirds and Trans Ams staged at the Waterloo City Hall on their pre-run of the event.
The Firebird Fest is presented by the I-55 Firebirds club:
The I-55 Firebirds are a fun group of Pontiac Firebird lovers in the St Louis Metro area, and all along I-55 Highway with members from Chicago to Louisiana! Some of which we have yet to meet, and many of which we see at many of our local events! Our club began as the Troy Trans Ams as a search to find as many Trans Ams as we could in my hometown of Troy, Illinois. After we found several cars outside of Troy, and several that were not Trans Ams, we changed our name to the I-55 Firebirds because of our location next to Interstate 55.
The I-55 Firebirds does several local cruises, fundraisers and car shows in and around the St Louis area. This could sometimes mean just 2 of us gather to have lunch, or 15-20 of us meet with a more aggressive plan. We would love to meet you and your bird and experience the friendships that these classic cars produce! Our signature event, called the FirebirdFest, started in 2021, and brought in 140 Firebirds from 22 states! We also donated $4,000 our first year to First Responders in the St Louis region, as well as the St Peters, Mo. Community Outreach program.
In 2022, we will raise money through our FirebirdFest, to donate to KIDS ROCK CANCER. This program helps children cope with cancer diagnosis and treatments through Music therapy! A highly trained music therapist helps these patients express themselves by writing their own songs and recording a CD of their own! This is a groundbreaking program instituted by Maryville University of St Louis, Mo. We are very proud of the work that they do, and happy to help in some small way! We realize there are so many less fortunate than ourselves, and we feel blessed to be able to use our cars to gather friends from across the country for a great purpose for our community! Thanks to everyone who came to our Inaugural event and helped to make a difference in our community.
