1966 Ford Alloy Body AM GT40-1 – Muscle Car Of The Week Video Episode 349

This is one of the two alloy bodied Ford GT40s, 1966 Ford Alloy Body AM GT40/1, the actual car that ran the Sebring race and LeMans test days in 1966. It was part of the Alan Mann race team from England. Owner Rex Myers has spent years painstakingly restoring the car to as-raced condition, with a focus on authenticity and correctness of all parts and finishes. Today it is powered by a multi-carbed Ford 289 racing engine, and is equipped with the original as-raced magnesium wheels and correct tires. It has only been shown at the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance before coming to the 2019 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in the Ford & Mercury Total Performance Invitational display. It’s an amazing car with great history for sure!
