Upgraded Suspension and Brakes for Precision Handling

For superior handling, the suspension system has been completely revamped with Ridetech tubular components and coilover shocks. Four-corner Baer disc brakes provide exceptional stopping power, while American Racing 200S “Daisy” wheels add a touch of classic muscle car style.

Luxurious Interior with Modern Touches

Step inside the Fastback and you’ll find a custom-crafted interior featuring plush leather-wrapped seats and a custom console. The classic dashboard gets a modern upgrade with Autometer gauges, keeping the driver informed and in control.

Vinyl Wrap Protects the Show-Stopping Finish

One of the most unique features of this Mustang is its exterior. Believe it or not, that stunning finish isn’t paint! The entire car is wrapped in a high-quality vinyl film. This clever choice protects the owner’s investment, allowing them to enjoy pushing this Mustang to its limits on the track without worrying about scratches or damage.

The owner recently acquired this fun 1967 Ford Galaxie Convertible and is eager to transform it into a dependable and stylish family cruiser. While the car’s interior and bodywork, completed 5-6 years ago, are in satisfactory condition, he has a vision for several upgrades to enhance its performance, comfort, and safety.

Under the Hood Enhancements

The current 390 engine is experiencing leaks, prompting the owner to consider replacing it with a Ford crate engine. He’s leaning towards a new 347 stroker engine, aiming for a horsepower range of 300-400, while maintaining an automatic transmission. To improve fuel efficiency and reliability, the V8 Speed and Resto Shop Team will be installing a Ford 4R70W overdrive unit.

Focusing on Comfort and Safety

Since this Galaxie is intended for family cruising, the priority is to create a comfortable and safe driving experience. We’ll be adding Vintage Air air conditioning for enhanced climate control, along with a new radiator and heater core to address any existing leaks. Upgrading the power steering pump and lines is also on the list, ensuring a smoother driving experience.

Addressing Electrical Concerns

The V8 team has noticed that the headlights, brake lights, and turn signals appear dim, requiring some updates to the system.

Enhancing the Look and Feel

For a touch of classic style, the owner desires a new vintage-looking steering wheel. He’s also open to recommendations for suspension upgrades, aiming to improve the car’s handling without compromising its original character.

A Work in Progress

The owner acknowledges that the pictures he’s provided are just a starting point, and he’s open to further suggestions as the project progresses. With a clear vision and the assistance of qualified professionals, his Galaxie is well on its way to becoming a reliable and cool cruiser for the whole family to enjoy.

This isn’t your average classic car restoration story. This is about a beloved piece of history, a 1951 Ford F1 pickup truck with a unique past and an exciting future. And the V8 Speed and Resto Shop is honored to be a part of its journey.

The truck, affectionately nicknamed the “firetruck” by its owners, Bloomsdale Excavating, has been with the company “forever.” It sat proudly in their museum, a cherished reminder of their rich history. But now, the time had come for this classic to shine once again. They wanted to bring it out of retirement and give it a new purpose: gracing parades and community events.

That’s where owner Dean and the V8 Speed and Resto Shop stepped in. Recognizing the truck’s significance, the team was eager to help. While the F1 didn’t need a full restoration, it did require some TLC. The paint needed a touch-up, and the electrical system needed rewiring to ensure safe and reliable operation.

For V8 Speed and Resto Shop, it wasn’t just about fixing a truck; it was about preserving a piece of history and reviving a community treasure. They meticulously addressed the paint and electrical issues, ensuring the F1 would be ready to handle the demands of parades and events.

This project is more than just a restoration; it’s a story of community, family, and shared history. Soon, the “firetruck” will once again be a source of pride for Bloomsdale Excavating and a delight for the community. And V8 Speed and Resto Shop is proud to have played a role in bringing this iconic truck back to life.

Stay tuned for updates as we share more about this special project! You might even see the F1 shining bright in a parade near you.

We were honored to meet David Sullivan at the 2023 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals and help unveil his amazing 1968 Ford Torino GT 428 Cobra Jet, a family heirloom with a history that’s as thrilling as it is sentimental.

David Sullivan, known for his roles in television and film, unveils the heartwarming narrative behind this exceptional muscle car. A car show isn’t merely about machines; it’s about the profound stories woven into them. Watch as David shares the emotional journey of his father purchasing this unique vehicle brand new in ’68, only to sideline it for decades to prioritize family.

The Torino, ordered with a rare all-black exterior and red interior, was a symbol of speed and passion. However, family responsibilities led to a pause in its journey until David took the reins, restoring it with a dedicated team from Billups Classic Cars.

Witness the touching moment as David and Kevin Oeste unveil the once neglected Torino GT, now gleaming in the spotlight, a tribute to a father’s legacy and a son’s devotion.

More than just a muscle car show, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) is a place where stories come to life.  David’s Torino is more than just a car. It’s a symbol of family, love, and the choices we make in life. His journey to restore it is an inspiring testament to the power of perseverance and the memories we hold dear.

But this video is just the beginning. We want to hear your stories too!

– Do you have a family heirloom car?
– What special memories are tied to it?
– Are you considering restoring it?

The TMI TRIM Awards at The SEMA Show 2022 set the industry on fire. With the lack of awards from a few companies that are normally at the show, TMI Products stepped up to give the recognition that these builders deserved. Builders from all over the world entered for the coveted title of Best of Show – but only one amazing ride was able to take home that trophy.

Seven other winners were awarded in their respective classes and the TMI TRIM Awards were firmly cemented into the SEMA Show history books. After the week, coverage spread like wildfire of the TRIM Awards and they were seen by over 57 million enthusiasts.

The TMI TRIM Awards pay homage to the craftsmen who hand cut, stitched, and designed all the amazing interiors at SEMA. Too often though, the paint, wheels, or engine received most all of the recognition – no longer is that the case where TMI is now honoring fellow tradesmen who have perfected their craft.

TMI Products has been hand crafting some of the finest automotive upholstery for over 40 years now. With 40 years in the rear-view mirror, it was time to give back to the community and recognize those special builders. TMI is continuing this new tradition with the TRIM Awards for the 2023 SEMA Show.

Last years Best of Show winner wasn’t even a TMI Products interior, showing how serious TMI is about recognizing the best of the best. In fact, TMI doesn’t even choose the winners; for that, a completely independent panel of six industry veterans go over every inch of the car and then determine the winners.

The expert panel of judges include:

  • Kevin Oeste- The Voice of the SEMA Show and TRIM Awards Host, V8 Speed & Resto Shop Owner
  • Sean Holman- Owner of Use For Adventure and Co-Host of The Truck Show Podcast
  • Sara Morosan- Owner of LGE-CTS Motorsports, 2021 SEMA Person of the Year, Multi-time Ford Design award winner
  • Theresa Contreras- owner of Baja Forged, Multi-time Ford Design award winner, PPG Brand Ambassador
  • Marcel Venable- co-owner of AutoRevolution on Amazon Prime, OBS-Clash, Car Guy Confessions Podcast
  • Jason Mulligan- co-owner of AutoRevolution on Amazon Prime, OBS-Clash, Car Guy Confessions Podcast

The TMI TRIM Awards are designed to not only honor the builds and the craftsmen behind it, but to celebrate them in a public fashion. Wednesday November 1st at Noon all the judges and builders will convene at the stage in the TMI Products booth. Here, the judges will go over some of the highlights and announce winners in front of the entire Central Hall at The SEMA Show 2023.

The trophies are just as unique and custom as the interiors and can easily be hoisted in the air in a show of appreciation and accomplishment during the awards ceremony. While there are a few winners, only one ride will be crowned as the Best of Show!

To be eligible for the TRIM Awards, you need to have a vehicle that’s registered and on display at the SEMA Show 2023. There are categories for TMI-equipped vehicles, and categories for non-TMI-equipped vehicles. Having a TMI-equipped vehicle though does not offer a better chance of winning, as proven by last year’s Best of Show winner, that was not TMI-equipped.

TRIM Awards Categories include:

  • Best Car –Open to any car that features TMI seats
  • Best Truck –Open to any truck that features TMI seats
  • Best Custom SUV or Wagon –Open to any SUV or wagon, either two-door or four-door
  • Best Full Interior –Open to any vehicle of any type that is running a full TMI interior. A full TMI interior includes all the available components from that model line
  • Most Creative –Best usage of patterns, colors, and overall execution
  • Best Color-Matching –Best usage of patterns, colors, and stitching that matches vehicle exterior
  • Best Custom Car Interior (open to all Cars at the show) –Can be any vehicle with any type of custom interior
  • Best Custom Truck Interior (open to all Trucks at the show) –Can be any vehicle with any type of custom interior
  • Fan Favorite (Chosen Online) –Finalists that the TRIM Award Judges have chosen will be voted online by fans worldwide.
  • Best of Show Champion –Judges will vote on their favorite interior of SEMA 2023 and crown it with the TRIM Award’s highest honor

This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 XL rumbles thanks to a 460+ cubic inch 428 fed by two four barrel Holleys on top, and is shifted with a 4-speed manual transmission. The car came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop for some basic maintenance, as well as bodywork and a repaint . Follow the progress here!

This cool hot rod pickup came to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop in need of some maintenance and upgrades. It’s powered by a traditional multi-carbed flathead Ford V8, and has cool traditional hot rod elements all over. The owner loves to drive it, but is concerned with some possible low oil pressure issues, steering clearances, exhaust volume, and ride quality. We’ll address all those in the photos below!
