Original Chevrolet big-block cars featuring the L89 aluminum head option are pretty rare, and the L89 display at the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals was outstanding!    Here, we learn about them from Dan Vasic.

http://www.mcacn.com – The Mecum Auction Company had a big display at the very front of the 2014 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show this year, and we had the opportunity to chat with John Kraman about what it is like to put on such a giant road show.   You can see the Mecum auction schedule at http://www.mecum.com.

The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is more than a car show, it celebrates all elements of the hobby including showcasing some of the best artists in the genre.   We spoke with David Snyder about how he creates his automotive Americana artwork by hand, and how he recently helped raise over $100,000 for children's cancer research.    You can see more at www.davidsnydercarart.com.

This was an awesome project, the chance to restore the body on a 1955 Chevrolet hauler truck named “Carried Away” which serves as the chauffeur for an original 1955 Chevy gasser named “Mr. Chevy”. Mr. Chevy first became a race car around 1968, and has a great story all on it’s own. Below you’ll see the videos on the car and the truck, along with the restoration photos at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop. Once completed, Mr. Chevy and Carried Away were feature vehicles at the SEMA Show, the Grand National Roadster Show, the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, the Syracuse Nationals, the Tri-5 Nationals, and many others. It’s almost too cool for words. Check it out!

Let's kick off the week with some exciting Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals news. It may seem like November is a long way off, and in a way it is, but if you own one of the MCACN Official "Unveiling" cars, the clock is ticking! We have confirmed several very significant cars for Unveilings, and here is one that is currently undergoing a full restoration. This black on black 1969 Boss 429, ‪#‎KK1365‬ is going to be an absolute show stopper. Owner Tom Marcucci does not cut any corners and he spent several years looking for the right Boss '9. This one has the original drivetrain, making it one rare pony. I took these pics at the Dearborn Mustang meet this summer, where Tom showed it pre-restoration. Whew…can't wait to see the cover pulled off this one at MCAN, November 21-22! Is there anything cooler and more sinister than a black Boss '9?
