We all rely on electronic fuel injection systems for reliable performance today, but would you believe that the Shelby team was experimenting with the technology back in 1968? Pete Disher brought out this unbelievably rare 1968 Shelby GT500 engineering test vehicle that was equipped with a 428 Cobra Jet engine (rather than the 428 Police Interceptor as standard) and a Conelec Electronic Fuel Injection system as well. It’s an amazing piece of history that was on display at the 2017 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Rosemont, Illinois.
One of the coolest displays at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals is the "Barn Finds & Hidden Gems" display, which showcases cars and trucks as they were discovered in their present and unrestored states. In this video, we take a look at a 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 429 that was reported to be raced many years ago, and was displayed along with its new engine and vintage 1967 Ford cab-over race car hauler.
Let's kick off the week with some exciting Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals news. It may seem like November is a long way off, and in a way it is, but if you own one of the MCACN Official "Unveiling" cars, the clock is ticking! We have confirmed several very significant cars for Unveilings, and here is one that is currently undergoing a full restoration. This black on black 1969 Boss 429, #KK1365 is going to be an absolute show stopper. Owner Tom Marcucci does not cut any corners and he spent several years looking for the right Boss '9. This one has the original drivetrain, making it one rare pony. I took these pics at the Dearborn Mustang meet this summer, where Tom showed it pre-restoration. Whew…can't wait to see the cover pulled off this one at MCAN, November 21-22! Is there anything cooler and more sinister than a black Boss '9?
http://www.v8speedshop.com – In this video, we're running a fairly-stock 2008 Ford Mustang on the chassis dynamometer to measure stock power. Then, we're installing a bunch of performance upgrades… a Magnuson supercharger, Kooks headers, a Centerforce clutch, and MagnaFlow mufflers for more power and a better sound. We're also doing some engine detailing with Eastwood ceramic engine paint and some Moroso aluminum tanks. Finally, we run it on they dyno again to see the results! We can help you with all your late-model performance upgrades at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop today!
