1967 Chevrolet Camaro Upgrades at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop

This bright red 1967 Chevrolet Camaro arrived at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop looking for dramatic handling, power, and reliability improvements. The recipe calls for a Roadster Shop chassis fueled by an LS3 engine swap. Follow the pics to see the build progress!

1967 Pontiac GTO Complete Restoration

This 1967 Pontiac GTO came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop ready to start a new life.   We stripped the car, performed extensive metal repair with parts from OPGI, rebuilt and upgraded the chassis with parts from BMR Suspension, added disc brakes, and FiTech fuel injection to the 400 V8 engine.   We reupholstered the complete interior and vinyl top in-house.   The body was restored and painted in Tyrol blue, and the GTO scored top honors at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago on its first time out! Now this amazing GTO restomod is a show stopper with great driving manners!

Content: First-time viewer. Extraordinary car, extraordinary craftsmanship, and extraordinary video. I believe this is the best automotive video I have ever seen. Super photography, great narration, and superior music. Thank you, thank you, thank you for using some other than the stereotypical louder-than-the-narration-mediocre-screaming-electric-guitar that is generally inflicted on viewers. Truly a professional video.

Content: I know these videos are time consuming and you have a shop to run, but I sure love these longer and more detailed build videos like the early days of your channel. Thank you guys and gal so much!

Author: James Hutchins
Content: Absolutely magnificent work. The video detailing start to finish is perfect. I can’t see how anyone could have any doubts about the quality of work done or available at your shop. Even going back to the old shop and early videos, your work ethic and quality has remained exemplary.
This is my favorite kind of build. Bless yall.

Content: As you mentioned Kevin, better “drivability” was the goal and if it meant an assortment of non stock parts and even Ford brake parts to get it done then so be it. This is what hot rodding is about and kudos for an amazing job on an iconic American classic. πŸ‘

I call this kind of thing “rolling art” and it truly is!! I’m currently restoring a ’69 Mustang Fastback for it’s original lady owner who’s daddy purchased it
for her back in ’69 from Pasadena Ford. It’s all stock and number’s matching in Aztec Turqouise with stock black bucket seat interior, 351, AT, PS and PB.

Content: Wow, what a great video highlighting this incredible restoration. With the possible exception of being a 4-speed rather than an automatic, a β€˜67 GTO in Tyrol Blue with a black top and interior is one of my all time top three dream musclecars. You all did a magnificent job on this one and the modifications are just right; maintaining the soul of the car but adding to the driving experience. And one thing is for sure, this begs to be driven. I’ve always enjoyed the Musclecar of the Week features and I look forward to the restoration features as well. Thanks for sharing, it made my morning and you have a new subscriber.

Content: Very nice program presentation here. I was fortunate to have owned a 67 GTO with a 400 and four speed. The difference in mine was that it was a convertable. It was the same color as this one with a black interior. One of the most pleasurable cars I ever owned.

Content: I do like the better than new restoration of cars. This one appeared to have the right balance of modernized and original parts. I think back to some of the cars that I have owned and a process like this applied to them would be an amazing sight to see. I would drive them too. Thanks for sharing this project with us. I think my great Uncles 73 Chevrolet Caprice would be a fun one to run through this process. Not a muscle car but still it brings back some good memories.

The V8 Speed & Resto Shop Crew recently finished a complete restoration on this 1964 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck including an LS swap, suspension, rust repair and sheet metal fabrication, and more. They installed a GM L92 6.2 liter V8 powered by a Mast Motorsports ECM and using Holley accessory drive brackets, oil pan, and Hooker exhaust manifolds. A Mast cam and valve springs were installed, yielding approximately 525 horsepower. A TCI 4L60E transmission is used to provide an overdrive gear, and the truck rolls on Mob Steel 20″ wheels. The finish is satin black with a charcoal silver roof, wheels, and side trim insert, and the bed is all new wood. The interior featured a leather seat, Vintage Air A/C, a Dakota Digital box to allow the original speedometer to work with the modern transmission, upgraded audio, and more.
