This amazing custom blended metallic blue 2-stage paint was formulated by V8 Speed and Resto Shop painter Jeff Wittlich before he sprayed it on a 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster we’re restoring in the shop. These photos are “straight out of the gun”, meaning the paint has not been sanded or polished… but will sparkle even more when it is! The V8 Speed and Resto Shop Body and Paint Center is top-notch, and we’re always happy to spray original or custom colors on classics, customs, and muscle cars. Click To See More!
This very cool 1968 Chevrolet El Camino is a real, numbers-matching L78 396 SS with a Muncie M22 4-speed. These are very rare 375 HP engines, found in only 393 ’68 ElCaminos new. It came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop looking to be straightened out and to look like it did when new.
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro came to the V8 Speed & Resto Shop to have the body panels properly installed, then go through the bodywork and paint departments ultimately receiving a new paint job. The color is a custom mix Axalta paint we named “Midnight Magic”, and looks awfully close to black, but actually has a purple hue with flake. It turned out sharp! The customer will be completing the assembly of the car.
The team at DFT Details is known for keeping a shine on some exceptionally prized and valuable rides, and they can make your classic or Muscle Car stand out as well. We met up with Erich Huber at the 2015 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago (MCACN) where he brought us up to speed on the DFT services of detailing and maintain cars at shows, auctions, and other events.
