We’re super excited to share that LIA Magazine chose to feature the V8 Speed and Resto Shop in their March issue. LIA Magazine (Ladies In Autosports) is a colorful female-themed rod & custom online & in print magazine published by longtime Midwest photojournalists Julia and John Aschenberg. Julia and John meet ladies of all facets of the industry; welders, fabricators, upholsters, painters, pin stripers, etc. This issue embarks on the 20 year story of the V8 Speed and Resto Shop featuring owner Kelle Oeste. We are grateful to be spotlighted in this month’s issue of LIA Magazine. Be sure to check them out at http://www.liamag.com/

The Original Rocket V8!

This cool 1949 Oldsmobile is powered by the original 303 Rocket Oldsmobile V8, but is wearing a smooth custom look with a lowered stance, vintage green exterior, and fully a finished interior. The 1949 Oldsmobile joined Cadillac as the second American automaker to mass produce an overhead valve V8 engine, and this version remained in production until 1953. The V8 Speed and Resto Shop team aims to make the car more enjoyable to drive all day long, installing power steering, air conditioning, disc brakes, cruise control, tilt wheel, and perhaps some seat upgrades as well. Fuel injection might be in the cards, we’ll post all the pictures and videos here so you can follow the progress of this unique resto-mod street rod… is that a “Street Mod?” Hmmm…

Today we’re setting the wayback machine to November, 2014, where we find the “Mr. Chevy” 1955 Chevy gasser riding on the back of “Carried Away”, it’s personal matching ’55 hauler as they exit the 2014 SEMA Show lighting up the SEMA Cruise on their way out the door. In this shot, SEMA Cruise Emcee Joe Sebergandio fires up the crowd – who was already fired up – as the golden gasser makes a grand exit. “Carried Away” was restored by the V8 Speed and Resto Shop, while “Mr. Chevy” remains as it was when completed back in the late 1960s. You can see the restoration photos and videos of Mr. Chevy at this link. Today, Joe Sebergandio and V8 Speed and Resto Shop’s own Kevin Oeste still have fun hosting the SEMA Cruise… a rolling car show where you truly have no idea what could be rolling by next!

This bright red 1967 Ford Mustang fastback is a fun car, and it’s about to get even better. It is wearing an older restoration, and is powered by a 428 V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. It came to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for some maintenance and performance suspension upgrades. Follow the photos to see the latest upgrades to this cool 1967 Ford Mustang restomod!

Staying up to speed on the latest technology and automotive training is why we pride ourselves at being the best. Our V8 Speed and Resto Crew experienced a Lunch & Learn from Rick Kearns at Garage Gurus. Learning the importance of determining lip seal material and whether or not to pre-lube it, along with the science behind an MLS style gasket were among the subjects tackled in this Lunch & Learn session. Strategies on sealant selection and application was also a hot topic. All that over a provided lunch from Garage Gurus.

Education is key to becoming a master at your craft.
