It’s no secret that we are all about building your dreams here at V8 Speed & Resto Shop / V8TV. That’s why we were honored to partner with Randolph County StartUp and help inspire future generations of entrepreneurs to follow their dreams. Students in this program work hand-in-hand with local businesses to develop the knowledge and skills to launch their own working business. This week we served as mentors by providing a tour of our facility. The students got to meet members of our team as they shared their knowledge on how we operate our business day to day. We are delighted to participate and help transform the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.

Don’t you love it when all the pieces come together and the car runs awesome and feels great?   Kevin Oeste and Mike “Q-Ball” Clarke chat about this with regards to the recently completed 1957 Ford Thunderbird with the 5.0 Coyote V8, 6-speed automatic, and custom performance chassis built at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop.   And Kevin’s 1970 Buick Riviera is also tuned up and running strong thanks to the recent upgrades.   The Automotive Trivia questions are stumpers once again, and the early glimpse of spring weather makes for a fun episode.

You can reach us at https://www.v8speedshop.com/contact for help with your classic or muscle car!

A great way to enjoy a classic car is to upgrade it with a modern engine, transmission, and suspension system for today’s power, performance, and reliability with yesterday’s classic Continue reading “1957 Ford Thunderbird 5.0 Coyote Swap and Custom Chassis Part 3 V8 Speed & Resto Shop V8TV”

This clean medium blue 1966 Dodge Charger 383 arrived at the V8 Speed & Resto Shop in need of some valve train repair and general maintenance, so the team installed a COMP Cams roller cam, lifters, pushrods, and roller rocker arms to replace the broken original rocker arms. A Demon carburetor was installed for more throttle snap and better fuel atomization, and the crew refreshed the drum brakes on all four wheels.

This cool 1956 Chevrolet Delray has some classic kustom touches, like the Packard taillights, pinstriping, custom grille, and louvered visor. It hasn’t been driven in over a decade, so our team is going through it to get it back in action where it can be king of the road once again.

The January auctions broke all kinds of records this year, with Mecum and Barrett-Jackson grossing over $420 Million in just two events!   Couple this with the amazing amount of super high-end hot rods and customs at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona, CA, and it’s easy to see that enthusiasm for classic cars is at an all-time high!  Mike “Q-Ball” Clarke and Kevin Oeste cover all this plus Automotive Trivia, and some sneak peeks into some new projects Kevin is working on with the SCTA and his encounter with Billy Gibbons and the CadZZilla project.   There’s even a cameo from Kelle!  It’s a really big show!

Kevin Oeste and Mike “Q-Ball” Clarke dive into achieving a state of “Flow” while wrenching, or doing anything, really, on the latest episode of the V8 Radio Podcast!  Kevin was wrenching on his 1970 Buick when time whizzed by, listening to inspirational interviews, having the right tools, and the work going smoothly all contributed to the zen-like state.   Have you been there?   Of course, you’ll find automotive trivia and a whole lot more, and if you dig it, leave us some kind words or stars!   Thanks, and enjoy the show!

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro restomod is getting the whole Pro Touring treatment as we restore the body and install a GM LSA 6.2 Supercharged V8 backed by a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed transmission at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop. The V8 Speed & Resto Shop Crew recently finished a complete restoration on this 1964 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck including an LS swap, suspension, rust repair and sheet metal fabrication, and more. They installed a GM L92 6.2 liter V8 powered by a Mast Motorsports ECM and using Holley accessory drive brackets, oil pan, and Hooker exhaust manifolds. A Mast cam and valve springs were installed, yielding approximately 525 horsepower. A TCI 4L60E transmission is used to provide an overdrive gear, and the truck rolls on Mob Steel 20″ wheels. The finish is satin black with a charcoal silver roof, wheels, and side trim insert, and the bed is all new wood. The interior featured a leather seat, Vintage Air A/C, a Dakota Digital box to allow the original speedometer to work with the modern transmission, upgraded audio, and more.
