Check out this incredible modernized Mopar at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals!
Exo Mod Concepts introduces the D69 Carbon Daytona, a reimagined 1969 Dodge Daytona built on a 2022 Hellcat Challenger Redeye chassis. This amazing machine blends past, present, and future with every body panel crafted from aircraft-quality carbon fiber.
From the hood, fenders, and quarter panels to the decklid and wing—everything is custom-made and meticulously designed. The D69 retains its safety features, including a steel safety cage, airbags, and modern tech while merging the iconic look of the original Daytona with modern performance.
This modern custom packs 807 horsepower and remains under the factory warranty. Rick and his team even stretched the body 10 inches to match the proportions of the original ’68-’69 Mopar Charger. Inside, the D69 features custom leather seats and door panels, adding luxury to the powerful build.
The reception has been phenomenal, and the D69 stood tall at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. Don’t miss this unique fusion of classic design and modern muscle!

Top Cats – Rare Buick Wildcat Muscle at Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals MCACN 2023
The Buick Wildcat is a big Muscle Car, and here, Buick enthusiast Ted Nagel shares four amazing 1965 Buick Wildcats he brought out to display at the 2023 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN) show in Chicago.
The 1965 Buick Wildcat was a sporty version of the full-size Buick coupe, initially starting life as an Invicta in 1962. By 1965, the base Wildcat engine was the 325 horsepower 401 “Nailhead” V8, but you could get the optional 340 HP 425 version, or the Super Wildcat 425 that churned out 360 HP thanks to the two 4-barrel carburetors.
Ted Nagel brought out four great Wildcats, including his version of the ideal ‘Cat featuring a rare aluminum dual-quad intake manifold and a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission beneath the stock 4-speed console. The other three are restored to original configuration but boasting lots of rare options and combinations, like the red 1 of 14 Custom Convertibles with both the 4- speed and the Super Wildcat dual quad 425 V8!

1969 Chevrolet Camaro With Surprise Under The Hood
This cool 1969 Chevrolet Camaro arrived at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for a complete restoration, but we are intrigue with some of the unique elements found on this all-original car.
Stuff You Don’t See Every Day
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a bit out of the ordinary for several reasons:
– The car is all-original – The exterior color is Butternut Yellow – The interior color is green
Striped For Style
This Camaro is wearing the code D69 stripes, which swoop over the wheel openings on the quarter panels and fenders, and it is also painted with the DX-1 hood and nose stripes. These wrap around the nose of the car and up the hood pointing to the windshield.
Under The Hood
Another interesting part of this ’69 Camaro is the all-original 250 cubic-inch 6 cylinder engine, coupled to an automatic transmission. While 6 cylinder Camaros were popular when new, it seems most were converted to various V8 engines over the years for better performance and more power. However, this one is slated to stay with the original inline 6 during the car’s restoration.

This cool 1949 Oldsmobile is powered by the original 303 Rocket Oldsmobile V8, but is wearing a smooth custom look with a lowered stance, vintage green exterior, and fully a finished interior. The 1949 Oldsmobile joined Cadillac as the second American automaker to mass produce an overhead valve V8 engine, and this version remained in production until 1953.
Returning The Olds To The Road
The V8 Speed and Resto Shop team aims to make the car more enjoyable to drive all day long, installing power steering, air conditioning, disc brakes, cruise control, tilt wheel, and perhaps some seat upgrades as well. Fuel injection might be in the cards, we’ll post all the pictures and videos here so you can follow the progress of this unique resto-mod street rod… is that a “Street Mod?” Hmmm…

The owner of this sweet 1967 Plymouth Belvedere GTX received the car in 1985, and has had it ever since then. But it wasn’t just a car he bought off some used car lot… this one came from his uncle, who bought it new after returning home from the Vietnam war. You can imagine the sentimental value the car holds for the owner and his family, and that is something we do not take lightly here at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop!
It looks great, but…
The car has received an extensive restoration, but the owner isn’t sure that it looks the best it can, so he reached out to our shop for some insights on taking the paint and appearance to the next level. And being a fairly fresh restoration, there are always mechanical fixes that need to be addressed as miles are driven, and the GTX had a few mechanical issues to button up as well.
The “X” Files
The letter X has always been kind of mystical… X marks the spot, x stands for experimental, x represents an unknown or even secret stuff like x factors or x files. This time, the X could stand for Extra, as the GTX came from the Plymouth factory loaded up with goodies intending to make it an all-around performer, with comfort and style as well. Based off the no-frills Belvedere platform, the GTX came stock with the powerful 375 HP 440 cube V8 and was no slouch. Upgrades from the basic Belvedere were all over the car and included performance and appearance items, and this one is wearing Medium Blue Poly paint.
The 67 GTX had the look, with a dual snorkel scooped hood, and many featured two thin stripes that made ‘em even racier. The front end design is tight, with quad headlights and a no-nonsense grille treatment featuring blacked out upper and lower sections. Follow along as we perform some TLC on this GTX at V8 Speed!

This Camaro is a great example of a 1970s – 1980s style Street Machine!
Wearing an Rally Sport trim package and an SS badges, striping, and hood, this killer blue 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is a feast for the eyes. But what really has us jazzed are all the period-perfect accessories that give this Camaro a look we instantly recognize.
The parts we all wanted “back in the day.”
It all starts with the stance… the jacked-up look which allowed for much wider wheels and rear tires. In this case, a polished set of US Mags aluminum “slots” wrapped with BFG rubber put the power of the small block V8 to the pavement. Note the ladder bar rear suspension supporting a 12-bolt rear axle. Under the hood, the engine is wearing the prerequisite gold iridite plate Moroso valve covers, yellow Taylor spark plug wires, Edelbrock intake manifold, and long-tube headers. It’s a total time-warp.
It’s got the right look on the inside, too.
We converted the Camaro to an automatic transmission at the owner’s request, and added a “horseshoe” shifter to the O.E. style console. The console features the Rally gauge package, and the car is also fitted with a Vintage Air A/C system for even cooler cruising. Houndstooth upholstery, deluxe door panels, and rosewood accents provide even more detail inside.
Overall, this is a very fun Camaro that has the ability to transport not only from point A to B, but also back in time. And although we’ve built all kinds of Camaros here at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop, we’re always happy to see how many different ways these cars can be personalized and made cool.
