This Camaro is a great example of a 1970s – 1980s style Street Machine!

Wearing an Rally Sport trim package and an SS badges, striping, and hood, this killer blue 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is a feast for the eyes. But what really has us jazzed are all the period-perfect accessories that give this Camaro a look we instantly recognize.

The parts we all wanted “back in the day.”

It all starts with the stance… the jacked-up look which allowed for much wider wheels and rear tires. In this case, a polished set of US Mags aluminum “slots” wrapped with BFG rubber put the power of the small block V8 to the pavement. Note the ladder bar rear suspension supporting a 12-bolt rear axle. Under the hood, the engine is wearing the prerequisite gold iridite plate Moroso valve covers, yellow Taylor spark plug wires, Edelbrock intake manifold, and long-tube headers. It’s a total time-warp.

It’s got the right look on the inside, too.

We converted the Camaro to an automatic transmission at the owner’s request, and added a “horseshoe” shifter to the O.E. style console. The console features the Rally gauge package, and the car is also fitted with a Vintage Air A/C system for even cooler cruising. Houndstooth upholstery, deluxe door panels, and rosewood accents provide even more detail inside.

Overall, this is a very fun Camaro that has the ability to transport not only from point A to B, but also back in time. And although we’ve built all kinds of Camaros here at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop, we’re always happy to see how many different ways these cars can be personalized and made cool.

This Ford F350 is practically a member of the family.

The owner of this super-cool 1979 Ford F350 grew up with this truck, as his Dad’s good friend bought it new back in ’79. When the original owner – a former law enforcement officer – decided the truck’s services were no longer needed, the current owner obtained the truck… he was just 16 years old.

An heirloom is born.

This was a great daily driver for a 16 year old. It is powered by a Ford 400M V8 engine with an automatic and 4 wheel drive, but as time went progressed, the owner grew up and needed more practical transportation. However, he held on to the truck, storing it for a future time when the truck could be enjoyed once again. Fast forward a couple decades and a family, and today the ’79 is getting back on the road with the help of the V8 Speed and Resto Shop team!

Follow along as we perform some mechanical TLC to return the big F350 safely to the road!

Re-skinning a Snake, outside and in

The Cobra is one of the true icons of performance cars, and this sweet Backdraft version is powered by a Roush Performance 427 Windsor small block. It was purchased with typical Cobra flash, but the owner likes to personalize his rides, so the Cobra came to V8 Speed and Resto for several rounds of appearance upgrades. First order of business was to black-out all the bright trim, including powdercoating the windshield frame, wheels, and other trim items. It was then treated to a complete repaint in our Paint Shop.

From Blacked-Out to Bespoke Beauty

This Cobra’s transformation wasn’t complete after the paint job. V8 Speed & Resto’s Upholstery Shop added the perfect contrast with a custom, hand-stitched tan leather interior. The distressed finish echoes the texture of snake scales, and the rich leather aroma welcomes you… until you turn the key and wake up the 427’s growling side pipes.   Slide behind the wheel and experience luxury that matches the car’s power.

What Can We Build For You?

As you click through the photo gallery documenting the progress of this 427 Cobra, we invite you to consider your own dream car and reach out to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop where we can make it come to life.   From bodywork and paint, performance upgrades, or a one-of-a-kind custom interior, our discerning craftsmen and technicians can make it a reality.   We invite you to contact us at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop today.

This drivable dreamsicle conjures up summer days and sunsets at the beach with good times, good friends, and rock-n-roll!

It’s hard NOT to smile when you spy this ride, even if your eyes are burnin’ from the blazing Tangelo Pearl and Pearl White color scheme, polished trim, and sunburst glints off the Billet Specialties wheels. This Nova wagon came to visit the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for completion… it was a project that started in spare time, but needed more focus to see the finish line.

A Focus on Custom Style and Performance

This Nova is powered by an Edelbrock Pro-Flo fuel-injected 350 Chevy stuck to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. A Vintage Air Frontrunner keeps the spinning things inline up front, including the A/C compressor, alternator, steering pump, and all the black hard-coated pulleys. A lumpy cam is heard through the Hooker headers and custom pipes, while the Nova is more sure-footed thanks to a Heidt’s front end, Wilwood disc brakes, and Continental-wrapped Billet Specialties wheels.

Inside, a full diamond-stitched custom interior is the place to be, with amped-up sounds and cool air conditioning to keep the hot sun at bay.

We completed various tasks all over this car to bring it all together, and we all really dig it. It arrived to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop already painted with the interior in place, but it still needed a lot of help to be a reliable and fun cruiser. Click through the pics to see the story evolve and how we were able to wrap this one up for the owner. Let us know if we can help your project ride the wave to reality!

It’s no secret that classic cars and trucks hold personal connections to good times and the special people we’ve shared them with over the years. Sometimes, you have to act to be sure a classic doesn’t “get away”. In this case, the owner of this cool 1966 GMC pickup truck bought this same truck twice for that very reason!

Enjoyed By Generations

The GMC’s owner told us: “I bought this pickup for my daughter because she wanted an old truck like Dad. (I have a 58 Chevy Apache). She enjoyed driving it & showing her friends and used it as a photo prop, but wanted to sell it at one point, sooo I bought it from her – yes, I’ve bought the truck twice. Truth is, it reminds me of my Grandpa’s truck & I look forward to retiring someday & showing them both off.”

It is still powered by the inline 6-cylinder engine and is mostly original, and that’s one of the cool features of the truck. So many of these were worked hard, and while we love modified and restomod pickups, it’s always cool to see one that is authentic to the original design.

We’re honored he brought the Jimmy to the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for some maintenance and TLC. We’re replacing the bed wood, performing some mechanical fixes and taking care of some other loose ends on the truck so the owner can enjoy it more. Follow along in the pics below for the whole story.

This stunning 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback isn’t your average classic muscle car.

Packing a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine from a 2008 Shelby GT500, this restomod is a force to be reckoned with on the road and the track.

Power and Performance Under the Hood

The heart of this beast is the iconic 5.4-liter Shelby GT500 V8 engine, pushing out over 500 horsepower. Paired with a T56 6-speed transmission, this Mustang is built for exhilarating performance.

Upgraded Suspension and Brakes for Precision Handling

For superior handling, the suspension system has been completely revamped with Ridetech tubular components and coilover shocks. Four-corner Baer disc brakes provide exceptional stopping power, while American Racing 200S “Daisy” wheels add a touch of classic muscle car style.

Luxurious Interior with Modern Touches

Step inside the Fastback and you’ll find a custom-crafted interior featuring plush leather-wrapped seats and a custom console. The classic dashboard gets a modern upgrade with Autometer gauges, keeping the driver informed and in control.

Vinyl Wrap Protects the Show-Stopping Finish

One of the most unique features of this Mustang is its exterior. Believe it or not, that stunning finish isn’t paint! The entire car is wrapped in a high-quality vinyl film. This clever choice protects the owner’s investment, allowing them to enjoy pushing this Mustang to its limits on the track without worrying about scratches or damage.
