We were relieved and happy to see the super clean original body panels after this 1978 Pontiac Trans Am returned from Custom Coatings, STL. after a dustless blasting. We complete all kinds of rust repairs and custom metal fabrication here at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop, but starting with the best car possible makes a huge difference.  Dustless Blasting is one of the safest and most effective ways to remove paint and rust, allowing a clean start to your muscle car restoration.   We’re happy to be able to start moving forward on this custom restomod Trans Am without having to perform lots of rust and damage repair first.   This 1978 Pontiac Trans Am is getting a full Pro-Touring restoration, including modern power and amenities while keeping a classic Trans Am look.

This clean yellow 1966 Dodge Coronet convertible arrived at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop in need of some maintenance and TLC to make it a reliable and fun cruiser. It’s got a 383 under the hood, fed by a F.A.S.T. EFI system, and it spins an automatic transmission. The cool part is that this is a family heirloom car that has been passed to the current generation, and will always remain in the family. The owner’s parents had a ’66 Coronet like this one brand new, and recaptured those memories when they purchased this one a few years back. Today, their children and grandchildren are excited to enjoy the car and continue the legacy.

Contact the V8 Speed and Resto Shop for help looking after your Classic or Muscle Car, we’re happy to help!

“This Week in Classic Cars” is a radio show covering classic and muscle car restoration and performance topics, and it airs weekly on KTRS 550am Radio in St. Louis. The show recently added V8 Speed and Resto Shop’s Kevin Oeste to the line up, joining host Josh Gilbert and Jeff Homsher, Owner of It’s Alive Automotive. Tune in each Sunday at 1pm for the latest episode!

This bright red 1967 Chevrolet Camaro arrived at the V8 Speed and Resto Shop looking for dramatic handling, power, and reliability improvements. The recipe calls for a Roadster Shop chassis fueled by an LS3 engine swap. Follow the pics to see the build progress!

We had an AWESOME night hosting the Red Bud Chamber Business After Hours. Local businesses had the chance to meet V8 Speed and Resto Shop owners Kevin and Kelle Oeste, and enjoyed shop tours seeing restorations and customized cars from all over the world. We’re happy to make Red Bud our home!

British magazines Classic Fords Modified and Retro Ford Magazine feature 10 pages of the top modified Mustang and Ford builds from SEMA Show ’22, in the latest issue. SEMA is the largest automotive aftermarket event of the year. If you are lucky enough to experience SEMA you are sure to experience Kevin Oeste. Kevin hosts SEMA Ignited and SEMA Central which include interviews with automotive celebrities, industry experts and influencers. SEMA 2022 was anticipated by many after coming off the pandemic years; however, SEMA 2023 just may prove there are further enhancements and higher exceptions.
